Chicken Parm!

One of the great things about making an incredible marinara is that if you make enough of it you can eat on it for days and a multitude of ways. The sauce we made on Sunday has carried us through this week serving as the base for pasta, meatball sandwiches and finally, last night L made an incredible chicken parm to finish the sauce off. She fried the chicken breasts after dredging them through egg wash and then in an herb and bread crumb mixture. Finished the cooking process by baking the chicken in the oven with the marinara, provolone and parmesan cheese. Broccoli tossed in garlic butter and garlic bread on the side. Obviously garlic is a staple in the house of Nom. 4.3 Noms!

A couple garden pics

I figured since this is a food blog, I'd throw up a few pics of the garden I took this evening before dinner. You'll probably see it all at some point on a plate in the near future.

Lots of okra. It's a pretty cool looking plant.

A couple bell peppers.

Some jalapeno's between the basil, sage and tomatoes.

Big canteloupe. Little canteloupe. Best of friends.

NEW CAMERA DINNER!

So we finally got the new camera and Yorke cooked a photogenic AND delicious dinner for the occasion. Grits, tomatoes, squash and onions are from the co-op. Chicken andouille sausage made by the farmers mkt. The grits were creamy deliciousness. I do believe the girl has perfected cooking a grit. She sauteed the sausage and veggies together in olive oil with basil and sage from the garden. Muy bien.

She had to take pics from several angles to get used to the new camera. Sure beats the blackberry.

KENZE COOKED!!!

A small miracle happened last week, when my wonderful wife cooked me some dinner! And it was the best one she has cooked me yet. She slow cooked some pork loin with cabbage, taters, and carrots. Very yummy, with some Brasilian style rice and beans, the key to my heart. The pics dont do it justice, but here you go. 3 Noms.

Cedar Plank Salmon and Summer Risotto

We were very excited about this dinner and it worked out perfectly. The risotto cooked with squash, zucchini, vidalia and white wine came out incredible and worked very well with the salmon grilled on a cedar plank. On the side we cooked down kale from the farmer's market with butter and garlic and then tossed it with a little grated ginger and sesame oil. 4.5 Noms!
